Toki pona is the only artificial language (i.e. like Esperanto) that was invented by a Canadian. It has only 123 words.

It was invented by Sonja (pron. Sonia) Kisa, an Acadian (from NB) translator and Esperanto-phile.

Il y a un wiki dedicated to it in the Wikia collection. And articles on Wikipedia in sev. languages.
