The Ottawa River is a river in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario in Canada. For most of it's length it is the Quebec-Ontario border and it passes through Ottawa, the capital of Canada

Geography Edit

The river rises from it's source in Lake Capimitchigama, in the Laurentian Valley in central Quebec and flows west to Lake Timiskaming. The river then flows to Ottawa and Gatineau while later heading for the Chaudiere Falls and the St Lawrence River nearMontreal, Quebec .

History Edit

The river played a role in helping Algonquin people that lived in Canada around 1500, as it does today.
